The Société Économique de l’Ontario (SÉO) is proud to announce the launch of the Francophone Tourism Recovery Program (Programme de relance du tourisme Francophone), implemented in partnership with the Assemblée de la Francophonie de l’Ontario (AFO), the bilingual Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) of Southwestern Ontario and the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO).
Developed exclusively for Francophone tourism SMEs and NPOs in Southwestern Ontario, this program will be launched on February 1, 2021 and will remain in effect throughout the year, up to and including December 31, 2021.
The program’s objective is to support Francophone businesses and organizations that are facing adaptation costs related to the implementation of new health measures related to the pandemic. This can include the purchase of equipment, cleaning products and disinfectants, investment in equipment, expansion work to promote social distancing, or the digitalization of services offered.
This grant, retroactive to June 1, 2020, could reach up to $20,000 and cover up to 80% of the expenses incurred. Eligible Francophone SMEs and NPOs will be able to benefit from the program for projects that have already been carried out.
From Simcoe to Niagara, Huron, Elgin and Essex, this initiative is open to all Francophone applicants in Southwestern Ontario (19 districts in total). The program supports Francophone SMEs and NPOs in Southwestern Ontario, particularly impacted by the pandemic, in their tourism activities.
