Our community organizations also celebrate diversity and offer French activities for kids, teens and adults.<\/p>\n<h3>Arts and Culture<\/h3>\n<p>Niagara residents can choose to actively <em>live in French <\/em>through community events presented by the following organizations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/legriffon.org\/\">Centre communautaire Le Griffon<\/a>: production of social and cultural events of all kinds that promote French Canadian culture throughout Niagara region<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofifran.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SOFIFRAN<\/a><em> (Solidarit\u00e9 des Femmes Interconnect\u00e9es Francophones du Niagara) : <\/em>provides, develops, organizes and produces projects that meet the real needs of the francophone immigrant community of Niagara <em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcfniagara.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maison de la culture francophone du Niagara<\/a>: presentation of cultural activities and workshops for Francophones and Francophiles in Niagara<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinefestniagara.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cin\u00e9fest Niagara<\/a>: French films presented by the Toronto International Film Festival&#8217;s (TIFF) Film Circuit (by subscription)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Newsletter for Seniors<\/h4>\n<p>Seniors in our community can subscribe to the <i>Le clin d\u2019\u0153il amical de Muriel <\/i>newsletter by email: <span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"mailto:mthibault.mauve@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mthibault.mauve@gmail.com<\/a>. This monthly newsletter is available electronically and also in printed copies. Previous issues of the newsletter are published here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cschn.ca\/le-cercle-de-lage-dor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le Cercle de l\u2019\u00e2ge d\u2019or<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Social clubs<\/h3>\n<p>French social clubs bring volunteers together to work on community projects or to support our heritage and the arts. All provide their members the opportunity to live their culture and to pursue recreational activities in French. For example, Welland&#8217;s Auberge Richelieu (<a href=\"https:\/\/clubrichelieuwelland.ca\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Club Richelieu Welland<\/a>), organizes a winter carnival and La Saint Jean activities annually. The michif language is a blend of European and local indigenous languages. In Ontario, michif derives from the Algonquian language.
